Esther Hsu
Since joining the San Gabriel Valley Unit in 2004, Esther has experienced an exceptional rise in officiating. She officiated her first community college game in 2008, and currently officiates Division I in the Pac-12, WCC, WAC, Big Sky, Big West, and Mountain West Conferences, Division II – CCAA and PacWest conferences, and several small college conferences. In 2019, Esther was selected to work the NCAA Division II National Tournament, including the Elite 8, Final 4, and the National Championship game.
Her significant postseason highlights include: the 2024 inaugural WBIT (first round), 2022 NCAA Division I National Tournament, 2019-2024 Big West Conference Tournaments, 2023 and 2024 WCC Conference Tournament, 2022 WAC Conference Tournament, and various other postseason selections in the WNIT.
She also officiated the NCAA Division II – 2015-2019 West Regional Tournament and several Division II Conference Tournaments, and was selected to work the Community College State Finals in 2013 and 2014. She has also worked a C.I.F. State Final in 2011.
In addition to the on‐court experience, Esther spends time mentoring basketball officials. She lives in Temple City, and still serves as an instructor for the San Gabriel Valley Unit.
